Five Questions
with a Teammate Five Questions with
a Camp Simcha Hero
By
all accounts, Zoey Krevitz
is a typical 10 year old. The
fifth grader at Liberty
Elementary School in the
Chicago suburb of Orland
Park, IL loves to giggle,
enjoys doing things with
her friends and family – father
Aron, mother Susan, and
sisters Skyler and Chloe – and
likes to shop (more on
that later).
Zoey, however, is atypical. Unlike her classmates, she has ALL, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. She was diagnosed about two years ago and, says Aron, “we’re really lucky. She responded well to all the treatments.” Zoey and her family are also lucky that there is “a fantastic organization” called Chai Lifeline. “It offers so much for the entire family,” Aron says. And, as it pertains to Zoey, it offers Camp Simcha. Indeed, she is eagerly looking forward to her second summer at the upstate New York camp for children with cancer and other serious illnesses. With one summer behind her, Zoey is a veteran so it was the ideal time to spend a few minutes chatting with her about Camp Simcha and what makes it so special.
