Raizy Zuber (Horowitz)

Dearest family and friends!!! I'm back for the Team Lifeline Miami Half Marathon this January. I am running to raise money for Chai Lifeline, the incredible organization dedicated to helping very sick children and their families.

Because of my personal experiences with chai lifeline where they helped me tremendously when I went through cancer as a young girl of 11, through my teenage years grappling with the emotional and physical effects/scars of the cancer, and through my young adult years creating a new normal and delighting in the beautiful friendships I made over the years in camp simcha, I feel super grateful to them and have always felt the need to reciprocate and show my tremendous gratitude!!!
That is what essentially led me to signing up for my first half marathon in 2009!!!

Every year I run in memory of my dear friend Chaya gottlieb A"H, who I spent many memorable summers with in camp simcha, and who passed away 7 years ago from cancer. This year, I wasn't sure if I was up to taking on the challenge of fundraising, training and running/walking the half marathon, but was moved by all the kindness, love, warmth and support my husband avi and I have received recently when our precious baby girl was born very sick and passed away. Seeing and experiencing such an outpouring of kindness and unity led me to tears many times over, and has inspired me to take on this challenge yet again!! This year I will not only be doing the half marathon in memory of my dear friend, I have decided to also do it in honor and memory of my precious princess Chaya Ahuva bas Avraham Eliezer, who was the catalyst for so much love and giving even before she was born and in her short but holy journey in this world of only 6 days!!!!

Training and fundraising are not easy, but neither is dealing with illness. If the children of Chai Lifeline can fight each day, if they can push themselves to go through hospital stays and treatments, I can do this for them. But I can't do this without your support. I need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids. So please, push the donate button and help me put smiles on the faces of sick children. Let's do this together! Let's make dreams come true.

To get a better idea of what Chai Lifeline does for families, please watch the videos below. I know they will touch your heart the way they touched mine.

With lots of love and a humble heart,
