'And in the end it is not the years in your life that count, it is the life in your years' - Abraham Lincoln
Jon Hecht may have only had a short 23 years, but those 23 years were filled with genuine kindness, giving, and caring, with a happiness for life that was contagious. Jon related to every individual in utmost respect, this was reflected as all those who met Jon instantaneously became friends.
Jon never let illness stand in the way of making others happy. While on treatments, Jon was always concerned about his family and friends well being, ensuring all needs were met.
One of Jon's true passions were building gaming computers and virtual reality. Jon had coordinated with the Director of Camp Simcha to build gaming computers and a virtual reality zone for the children to enjoy at camp. Jon started to privately fundraise, organize, and build computers from his hospital bedside.
Chai Lifeline is a wonderful organization that provides year–round emotional, social, and financial support to more than 4,500 children and their families every year. Its most famous program is Camp Simcha and its sister camp, Camp Simcha Special. Every year these two camps offer 450 kids a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again.
Team Jon's mission is to fundraise and complete what Jon envisioned for Camp Simcha. To make his life a legacy.
All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
