Time moves on. The longing for my son remains every day. I miss him dearly, as we all do. I love this picture. I wear it pinned across my chest during the entire marathon. Stephen's presence is in my every heart beat. There's Jason and me crossing the finish line last year! My arm wrapped in his as he holds me up. It wasn't easy. Cold and heavy rain escorted us, for part of it. It was Jason's gentle and consistent encouragement that moved me onward....step by step. I've decided to honor Stephen's memory again this year, in the way he would have wanted... helping other kids, like himself, get to Camp Simcha. I'm running (mostly walking!) the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas 10K this November for the third year in a row. Jason will be right next to me. I’m not just running for my own satisfaction, rather for something monumentally more important...for very very sick children who have been stricken with cancer. I am running to raise money to provide those children with a few moments of bright happiness...2 weeks at summer camp just for them...away from unrelenting devastating treatments that have entered their lives. I've walked the walk as a parent and know I must to do something to help other innocent children fighting cancer. Stephen loved this camp and referred to it as a "slice of heaven." I know I can’t do it alone. I need your help. Please open your mind and loving heart with kindness and compassion and place a smile of joy on a very sick child's face. Join Team Stephen in honoring the memory of my son and Jason's brother.
Celebrating who Stephen was and placing this Memorial Recognition in this marathon with Team Lifeline is an integral part of my life's purpose.
Training for the marathon is not easy, but neither is fighting a devastating illness. If children can fight each day, if they can push themselves to go through hospital stays and painful treatments, I can do this for them. We can do this together. I can't do this without your support. I need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids. So please, click on, donate, and help me bring some happiness to these sick children. Let's do this together! Let's make dreams come true. No minimum or maximum. Every dollar matters. Donating will take just minute of your time and mean so much. Join me. Please.
With much love and infinite gratitude,
