Dear friends, some of you may already know that I’m training to run in the Miami Marathon this February. Running is a personal challenge, but I’m not in this just for the glory. I am running to raise money for Chai Lifeline, a wonderful organization dedicated to helping very sick children and their families, including mine.
My youngest brother Azzi who is 8 years old suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, it’s a degenerative muscle wasting disease. He is bound to a wheelchair but Chai Lifeline taught him that it doesn’t hold him back. This past summer was his first summer in Camp Simcha Special. He had the most amazing time. From human claw machines, to whip cream fights with his counselor it was a summer to remember and he can’t wait to go back. The fun doesn’t end in the summer. With shabbatons, parties, or just going out with your counselor the support lasts throughout the year.
Chai Lifeline transports all these kids away from the hardships, to a magical place where they can be themselves. My family and I are so grateful for this incredible organization for all they have done for us.
