You may already know that I’m training to run in the Lifetime Miami Marathon this February. This a crazy goal I set for myself to push me do beyond what I thought I could do, and it sucks. Whether it is getting up at 5am to run before anyone else has started their day, running in the afternoon in the 30°c heat making me sweat enough to fill the bay here in Miami(appetizing I know), or telling my friends that I can't hang out with them after Night Seder because I need to run - it sucks (saying nothing of the physical pain of starting from scratch).
But it is nowhere nearly as tough as it gets for the kids and the families of Chai Lifeline. They depend on Lifeline for the vital support services it provides.
Chai Lifeline is a wonderful organization that provides year–round emotional, social, and financial support to more than 5,800 children and their families every year. Chai Lifeline´s programs and activities change their lives forever, returning joy and hope and enabling them to live full and happy lives despite the presence of illness. Its most famous program is Camp Simcha and its sister camp, Camp Simcha Special. Every year these two camps offer nearly 500 kids a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again.
I really hope you will join me in supporting this vital work for two reasons. One, it will make my journey a whole lot easier knowing I have your support, belief, encouragement, and partnership. Two, most importantly to allow Chai Lifeline to continue their vital work and role in the community for many years.
So please give what you can $5, $10, $50, or $100, or even more. All are appreciated and mean the world to me.
