Hi there, thanks for visiting my page!
My name is Myriam Encaoua, and I’m a professional photographer, case manager and full-time university student. When I have the opportunity, I love to spend my summers at Camp Simcha as a camp photographer. While volunteering there two summers ago, I met a beautiful young girl named Sapir. I really enjoyed spending time with Sapir and would often visit her and her counselor Nechami as they went around the campgrounds from one activity to the next. Although there was a bit of a language barrier, I truly felt that Sapir and I formed a very strong bond that summer.
Recently while I was looking back at the many pictures of Sapir and me from that summer, my mind was flooded with memories of those wonderful times at camp, and I wanted to find some way to honour the amazing and strong girl that Sapir was. That is why this year I have decided to take part in Team Lifeline 2020, specifically to do something in remembrance of my dear friend. The money that you and I donate will go to Chai Lifeline, an organization that provides year-round emotional, social, and financial support for more than 5,800 children and their families. Chai Lifeline’s programs and activities can change people’s lives, returning hope and happiness to families affected by life-threatening illness. Additionally, Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special offer nearly 500 kids a chance to feel like a kid again, in a safe and loving environment.
Every dollar you give is helping children and their families live life to its full potential, even in the face of serious illness.
If you are unable to donate, I ask that you please do a small mitzvah (good deed) in the coming weeks, in honour of Sapir’s blessed memory.
