This February, I will be running in the Miami Marathon as part of Team Lifeline to benefit children with cancer, disabilities, and other serious medical conditions.

I will be running to honor the memory of Sophie Spangenthal z"l

Camp Simcha, in particular, is a dreamland where Sophie had the chance to be whatever she wanted to be. Each day was an adventure: she got to ride in a helicopter, go boating, watch fireworks, bake, dance and eat ice cream every day. There was no stopping her from going back to camp the following summer in 2019. Even though she was very ill, Sophie somehow found the strength to pick up and go to camp, and this time she didn't call home once the entire 12 days.

Sophie passed away a few days after returning from camp in July 2019. We love you Sophie and miss you every day.

Every dollar I raise and every mile I run will benefit Chai Lifeline, an international children’s health support network that provides critical year-round programs and services to nearly 6,000 families confronting pediatric illness.

While running all those miles will be challenging, I am excited to help raise awareness and funds for such an important and worthy cause.
