Dear friend,

Ever since I chose to pursue a career in nursing I was overwhelmed with the amount of charities and Chesed that were involved in the care of patients with illness. Ironically the first year I signed up for the chai lifeline marathon I just thought about the perks of the weekend and I did not truly understand what the organization is all about. Then my father was diagnosed with cancer and passed away shortly thereafter; and I saw just a glimpse of what chai lifeline is all about.

Working as a pediatric RN at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center I witness firsthand what these children with illness go through. They endure vicious cycles of chemotherapy, radiation, and treatments causing them to have debilitating side effects. That’s where Chai lifeline steps in. They bring volunteers, games, prizes, entertainment, meals, treats and so much more. They offer respite care to allow a parent much needed time off. They provide for the heathy children at home. They know no limits.

This will be my seventh time running and I couldn’t do it without your help. I’m running this marathon in memory of those who were taken from us too soon and as a refuah shelamah for those going through this unfortunate illness! The children of chai lifeline are counting on you and I’m counting on you!

While running all those miles will be challenging, I am excited to help raise awareness and funds for such an important and worthy cause.
Together, we can make a difference.
