It's time to make a difference!

Shlomo Assayag

It’s time. It’s time to make a change. It’s time to make a difference.

I’ve made a lot of changes and commitments to better my health this year. This ONE commitment is the biggest and most daunting thing I have signed up to do. That is, in addition to the life changing surgery I had 8 months ago.

For the kids of Chai Lifeline there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do. Helping these children overcome obstacles placed in front of them and challenges caused by medical issues is exactly why I’m going to train and put myself out there.

I’m not just tall, I’m a BIG guy. I grew up big and being the largest amongst my peers. There were so many challenges at times that I never shared with anyone. Not being able to keep up and bullying were just some of the daily occurrences I would encounter.

What changed? As a husband and dad of 3 amazing kids who are growing up today, I wanted to be here for them, for my wife and entire family. I wanted to show them that I am not ashamed of who I am, and that I too need to take care of my health and seek professional help.

This December I underwent Gastric Bypass surgery. I waited almost 2 years, underwent countless routines and finally did IT.

Since then I have proudly lost over 120 lbs and I am eager to kick up my regime by lacing up for the kids. I have proudly witness first hand the immense work Chai Lifeline does by working at their most recently Cottage Day event. I saw so many Jewish families affected by illness who were attending a fun filled day with activities and food all provided free of charge.

Training will not be easy, especially for me but neither is dealing with illness. If the children of Chai Lifeline and their families can fight each day, if they can push themselves to go through hospital stays and treatments, I can do this at the very least for them. But I can't do this without your support. I need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids. So please donate today and help me put smiles on the faces of sick children. Let's do this together! Let's make the impossible possible and help make dreams a reality.

If you would like to donate by cash or check then please message me and i will personally pick it up from you.
