Alright, so here's the scoop! I have been roped in to the Chai Lifeline Marathon (BH!) for a very important cause which is very dear to me; Penina's Helping Hands (PHH), a division of Chai Lifeline, which was started in the memory of Penina Rubinoff (more on this below); they have a very important mission: To support children of sick parents. The struggle, and upheaval is all too real, and all too familiar to me, having lost both of my parents early in life to debilitating illnesses.
PHH makes sure there are resources to support these children throughout this tremendously difficult time - when their lives are shaken by the illness of a parent, the person who is their everything.

PHH offers year-round programs, services, and social support to over 250 children dealing with the loss of a parent or a severely ill parent. The Annual Disney Trip, case management, counselling, holiday gifts, tutoring, gala holiday parties, family retreats, and crisis intervention services bring help and hope to these children, and their families.

HELP ME TO HELP THE CHILDREN!! ... and if you really want to laugh, maybe I'll post some training videos over the next few months ;)
See you in Miami!

-Alex.

Penina's Helping Hand, a division of Chai Lifeline started in memory of Penina Rubinoff a"h dedicated to helping children and their families who are dealing with Illness and loss.

PENINA'S HELPING HAND (PHH) is a division of Chai Lifeline that was started in the memory of Penina Rubinoff. She was an exemplary Toronto mother of four whose compassion and generosity were experienced far beyond the realm of her private family unit. Despite the pain and challenges she experienced throughout her ordeal, chessed (good deeds) and tzedaka (charity) remained not just values that she idealized, but areas in which she completely immersed herself and remained active. Although it was often difficult and even painful, she always tried to maintain a normal family life. To her, family was everything.

PENINA’S HELPING HAND is a fitting tribute to Penina Rubinoff, an extraordinary woman who will always be remembered for her love, compassion, and tzedaka. Penina’s Helping Hand offers year-round programs, services, and social support to over 250 children dealing with the loss of a parent or a severely ill parent. The Annual Disney Trip, case management, counselling, holiday gifts, tutoring, gala holiday parties, family retreats, and crisis intervention services bring help and hope to these children, and their families.

Training is not easy, but neither is dealing with illness. If the children of Chai Lifeline can fight each day, I can do this for them. But I can't do this without your support. I need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids. So please, push the donate button and help me put smiles on the faces of sick children. Let's do this together! Let's make dreams come true.

Best - Alexandra
