Hi friends,

I have decided to run a half marathon to help raise money for a very special organization, Chai Lifeline. I have never been a huge runner; I ran one 5 km race and one 8 km race in the past. However, I am excited to take on this new challenge to help a great cause.

Chai Lifeline is a wonderful organization dedicated to helping very sick children and their families. They provide year–round emotional, social, and financial support to more than 4,500 children and their families. Chai Lifeline´s programs and activities change their lives forever, returning joy and hope and enabling them to live full and happy lives despite the presence of illness.

Chai Lifeline also helps kids who have a parent who is sick. You might not know this, but Chai Lifeline has personally helped my family during a difficult time in our lives. In 2013, right after my second daughter was born, my wife had gotten very sick. She was in the ICU unit for 10 days on life support and then spent 20 more days in the hospital during her recovery. During this very difficult month, and for as long as we needed after she was back home, Chai Lifeline had offered us so much help. From offering to drive my older daughter to and from daycare, to shopping for groceries and cook meals and babysit, to offering financial assistance while I was off work. I am forever grateful for their assistance and dedication. Fundraising and training for this half marathon is just a small way for me to show this gratitude.

Training will not be easy, but neither is dealing with illness. If the children of Chai Lifeline can fight each day, if they can push themselves to go through hospital stays and treatments, I can do this for them. But I can't do this without your support. I need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids and their families. So please, push the donate button and help me put smiles on the faces of sick children. Let's do this together! Let's make dreams come true.

With lots of love and gratitude
