I am writing to you to share with you my Bar Mitzvah Chesed project. Since April, I have been training to run a 10k to raise money for Chai Lifeline. I will be running the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Marathon on November 11th, and I am asking for your support.

For the past 3 years my parents have been running for Chai Lifeline. Last year, I had the opportunity to go with them to Las Vegas and be at the finish line when my parents completed the Half-Marathon together. After spending the weekend meeting and listening to other Chai Lifeline runners, as well as former recipients of Chai Lifeline’s services, I felt a strong inspiration to do whatever I could to help this amazing organization.

Chai Lifeline is an organization that helps kids and their families who are struggling with illness. They provide emotional and physical support to kids, their siblings and their parents who would otherwise be giving all their attention to the illness. Two of the more well-known programs is Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special. These two-week summer programs provide kids that are suffering from an illness a full sleep away camp experience without being limited by their illness. These camp grounds have a full medical center and can treat almost all situations that may arise. The kids look forward to this the whole year.

Another program that Chai Lifeline offers is iShine. This is an after-school program that provides homework help, dinner, and other fun activities. iShine is a unique after school program for children living with illness or loss in their home. It’s a place filled with laughter, learning, and friendship, where children who feel challenged in other circumstances have the opportunity to truly shine. Last year, I spoke with some people that were in the iShine program and they told me how amazing and helpful everyone there is. They said that the nights of iShine are always great and they never want to miss a night.

Training is not easy, but neither is dealing with illness. If the children of Chai Lifeline can fight each day, if they can push themselves to go through hospital stays and treatments, I can do this for them. But I can't do this without your support. I need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids.

So please, push the donate button and help me put smiles on the faces of sick children. Let's do this together! Let's make dreams come true.

Thank you for your support together we can make a difference.
