Even if you only came here because you're curious to know how far I will be running, thanks for looking at my page!
You may have heard I am trying to kill myself, but in a socially acceptable way. Yep that’s right, I am training to run, walk, or crawl this campaign. I hope to finish a full 10K and would be honored to have your support.
Skip to the end if your eyes are already glazing over.
COVID-19 may be here, but pediatric illness has not gone away. That’s why I’ve decided to join Team Lifeline and run in support of Chai Lifeline, the Jewish community’s largest children’s health support network. Every dollar I raise and every mile I run will help Chai Lifeline continue to be there for families confronting illness and loss during these difficult times.
I have personally witnessed the amazing impact Chai Lifeline has when they stepped in after my neice was diagnosed twice with leukemia r"l.
The endless support, gifts, excursions and respite they offered the family was incredible and heartwarming. Now is my chance to give back.
Although the name Chai Lifeline is well known, many are not aware of the myriad things they actually do. They offer more than two-dozen year-round programs and services, including professional case management and counseling, transportation to medical appointments, meals delivered to hospitals and homes, emergency financial assistance, crisis intervention, insurance and medical advocacy, i-Shine afterschool programming, family events and retreats, Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special medically-supervised summer programs, and so much more. All programs are provided free of charge thanks to generous supporters and friends like you.
We cannot allow this pandemic to stop us from helping children with life threatening and lifelong illnesses. These children are counting on us, and I hope I can count on you too. Please help me reach my goal and raise as much money as possible for these incredible kids. Your tax-deductible contribution will have a direct impact on lives dimmed by pediatric illness when they need it most. Together, we can make a difference to Chai Lifeline’s more than 5,900 children and families around the globe.
TLDR: Chai Lifeline is an incredible organization that gives the breaks but never gets them. They helped us tremendously when a family member was sick. I'll be running with Chai Lifeline on January 31st and hoping to raise money to get myself to the finish line. Every dollar (literally) makes a huge difference!
Thank you for your support!!
