As many of you know, I have had the privilege to run with Team Lifeline in previous years.
This year is looking a little different for a lot of people, but that just means we need to adapt to the change. So, no, it doesn't look like there's going to be this big Chai Lifeline shebang Shabbat weekend in sunny Miami and that makes me sad.
We can still make a difference for the children and families in the Chai Lifeline family.
As much as you all would probably get enjoyment in watching me huff and puff across a finish line, and as much as I would welcome a trip to Florida, this can be done a different way...
So, this year, there is no minimum amount that needs to be reached. However, I would love to see if we could match, if not exceed, my previous years of fundraising.
Because if these passed few months have been hard on all of us, imagine just how badly this funding is needed for these children.
And in terms of the marathon part, I will B'Ezrat HaShem find the time between now and January 31st (official race day) to complete 13.1 miles, whether it is outdoors, on an elliptical, or treadmill.
Hey, if it's what the people want...
Thank you as always for you continued support and Tizku L'Mitzvot!!
This is L'Ilui Nishmat my Father, Pinchas Ben Shlomo V'Tzirel.
Love to you all!!
COVID-19 may be here, but pediatric illness has not gone away. That’s why I’ve decided to join Team Lifeline and run in support of Chai Lifeline, the Jewish community’s largest children’s health support network. Every dollar I raise and every mile I run will help Chai Lifeline continue to be there for families confronting illness and loss during these difficult times.
Chai Lifeline offers more than two-dozen year-round programs and services, including professional case management and counseling, transportation to medical appointments, meals delivered to hospitals and homes, emergency financial assistance, crisis intervention, insurance and medical advocacy, i-Shine afterschool programming, family events and retreats, Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special medically-supervised summer programs, and so much more. All programs are provided free of charge thanks to generous supporters and friends like you.
