This February, I will be running in the Miami Half-Marathon as part of Team Lifeline to benefit children with cancer, disabilities, and other serious medical conditions.

I have recently finished reading the book "The Choice" by Dr. Edith Eger a Holocaust survivor. I loved this quote in the book: “Our painful experiences aren’t a liability—they’re a gift. They give us perspective and meaning, an opportunity to find our unique purpose and our strength.”

I have gone through my personal journey this year, and one of the insights I've learned is that I would like to create more joy and happiness in the world. I'm doing so by focusing on growing my party planning business- helping people in their joyous times. In addition, I've been working on doing things I enjoy. I love running and working out. I've learned that when I am healthy, I am spreading joy and good energy around me.

Chai lifeline deals with so many people struggling with deep pain and suffering but through their organization they give hope, support and happiness to so many children in need.

Every dollar I raise and every kilometer I run will benefit Chai Lifeline, an international children’s health support network that provides critical year-round programs and services to nearly 6,000 families confronting pediatric illness.

While running all those kilometers will be challenging, I am excited to help raise awareness and funds for such an important and worthy cause.
