I can’t believe I’m saying this but, this year I’m running the NYC Marathon with Team Lifeline to raise critical funds for Chai Lifeline, an incredible organization that supports more than 6,000 children and families facing serious illness each year.
Chai Lifeline provides emotional, social, and financial support through services like counseling, case management, hospital meal deliveries, transportation to medical appointments, insurance advocacy, afterschool programs, Big Brothers and Sisters, and its medically supervised summer camps.
My connection to Chai Lifeline comes from my time at Camp Simcha, where I’ve worked as a counselor, lifeguard, and specialty staff. Through these experiences, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful camp can be for children battling cancer and other serious medical conditions. It truly gives them a chance to just be kids.
One camper who left an especially lasting impact on me was Michelle A’H (in the picture with me above), who I had the privilege of being a counselor for. Her joy, resilience, and unforgettable smile are something I carry with me always. I’m honored to run this marathon in her memory while also running for the many incredible campers whose lives are and continue to be touched by Camp Simcha.
My goal is to raise $10,000 to help ensure Chai Lifeline can continue providing these life-changing programs. If you’re able to contribute, your support will help more children experience the joy and community that Camp Simcha provides.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey with me.
