I'm so excited to raise money for Team Lifeline for the fifth time!!!!
While I've done four half-marathons for Chai Lifeline before, but this one in New York is extremely unique: for the very first time, I am attempting the *FULL MARATHON* -- this is a HUGE undertaking for me, something I've never done before, but a challenge I'm excited to take on. I am not 100% sure if I will be able to complete the course, but I know I will give it my absolute very best shot! 😊 👟
I’m running to raise awareness and critical funds for Chai Lifeline, a wonderful organization dedicated to helping very sick children and their families. Since high school, I have been extremely involved with Chai Lifeline. I've helped children directly who were going through cancer treatments by being a part of the "big-sister, little-sister" program, I've delivered meals to families in crisis, I've donated my hair for wigs, I've driven people to and from their hospital appointments, and I've done respite shifts in the hospital looking after children so that their parents could have some time off while knowing that I was in the hospital, watching over their child. Seeing first-hand what Chai Lifeline does for these children has changed my life in the most beautiful way. It is my goal to give back to the children of Chai Lifeline to the best of my ability, and running and raising money for these children is a great way to do so.
Throughout the year, Chai Lifeline provides emotional, social, and financial assistance to more than 10,000 children and their families. Whether it’s counseling, case management, crisis and trauma intervention, meals delivered to hospitals and homes, transportation to medical appointments, insurance advocacy, i-Shine afterschool programming, Big Brothers and Sisters, or its medically-supervised Simcha summer camps, Chai Lifeline’s innovative services help families navigate the complexities of childhood illness and restore joy and happiness.
Training for a full marathon is not easy, but the children of Chai Lifeline deal with difficulty every day, and my goal is to make their struggle a little lighter.
I need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids. I’ve set a challenging goal for myself to raise $7,500 in support of Chai Lifeline. Your generous donation will help me move closer to my goal and make a difference in the lives of so many sick children. Let's do this together!
