This January, in about 2 weeks I will be running in memory of one of my best friends Shani Platovsky, Chaya Bracha bas Yehontan Avraham ,the Miami Half-Marathon as part of Team Lifeline to benefit children with cancer, disabilities, and other serious medical conditions.

Just a little over 30 days ago I lost a best friend who was also a sister. It's hard to put into words what she meant to me as a person and friend. All I can say right now as the pain is still fresh is that one of our conversations that we had in more recent months was how much she wanted to get stronger to be able to give back and dedicate her life to helping others who were in a similar situation. Unfortunately in this way she wasn't able to give back but she actually dedicated her whole life to helping others, doing chessed in hidden, tznius ways. Always making people, kallahs, families, friends etc. feel good, look good and as if it was no big deal for her and her joy in life. She was beautiful inside and out and supported everyone and took care of everyone. Shani had the most generous and giving heart.

I only decided recently to do this run and join her sister and friends as part of Team Shani in her honor and memory to do my part in giving back and help chai lifeline in a way she would have wanted to.
