Last year, I ran with Team Lifeline to give a friend—battling cancer—the chance to experience the magic of Camp Simcha.
She lived overseas, and through her treatment, we FaceTimed regularly. One night, I told her about a place like no other—a place where kids with cancer, chronic illness, and disabilities can just be kids. A place where they don’t have to explain what they’re going through, because everyone around them simply gets it. A place full of strength, joy, and magic.

Her eyes lit up.

She applied, got medical clearance—and when she called to say she’d been accepted, she was ecstatic. She was going to Camp Simcha.

Even though I was deep in nursing school, she FaceTimed me every night from camp. Her voice was full of life. She told me about the dancing, the friendships, the freedom to just laugh again. One night, she said something I’ll never forget:

“For the first time in months, I feel like a normal person.”

At Camp Simcha, she felt safe enough to take off her wig. She felt seen, supported, and loved.

That moment changed everything for me.

This year, I’m running again—because I’ve seen what Camp Simcha does. It gives children a chance to feel whole again. To feel normal, even in the midst of the unimaginable.

Please help me bring that gift to another child this year. ❤️
