Last time, I announced I was going to ruck the Miami half marathon: 13.1 miles, walking fast, 50-pound pack, in 2:30.

My rucksack never made it to the start line, and I finished in 2 hours and 43 minutes.

To put that in perspective, I have a client who ran a full marathon faster than that. In jeans.

So I'm going back. Whether the pack comes with me this time is still under negotiation.

I do this with Team Sophie, raising money for Chai Lifeline and Camp Simcha, which change life for children with serious illnesses and their families.

Sophie is the daughter of our close friends David and Jenny Spangenthal. Camp Simcha gave her some of the happiest days of her life.

Sophie passed away in 2019. The joy she found at camp is why we keep showing up.

Last time, 23 people got me to $4,808 against a $5,000 goal. This year I'm going for $10,000.
