This year marks 10 years since Ilan’s cancer diagnosis. It is a bittersweet milestone. Ilan has accomplished so much over the past decade and has faced struggles that most people will never understand. He has endured a lengthy cancer treatment, relearning to walk, and the relentless pursuit of catching up to his peers.
Throughout this exhausting process there was one organization that continuously helped Ilan and my family: Chai Lifeline.
Raising funds for Chai Lifeline by participating in the Miami Half Marathon gives me an opportunity to support Ilan and children facing similar circumstances. Children with cancer and chronic illnesses deserve, at the very least, a chance to enjoy themselves as they endure treatment and recovery.
This fall I will begin nursing school. Nursing is a profession I found through Ilan’s many months in the hospital. As I commemorate 10 years I will mark it by learning to make an impact in a hospital setting and by returning to Team Lifeline. This year I have set my goal for $18,000. Yes, it is ambitious, but a milestone as significant as this deserves a historic effort.
Your donation will help create some more Camp Simcha magic for Ilan and children like him.
You inspire me everyday with your grace and strength and I am so proud of your dedication to being the amazing person you are. Wish you the best of luck with this fundraiser such an amazing cause!!!!
