This past summer, for the second time, I had the incredible opportunity to work in the Camp Simcha Special Infirmary, where I witnessed some of the strongest and most resilient children I have ever met.
These children spend much of the year navigating daily medications and treatments, countless doctors’ appointments, and prolonged hospital stays. But for two weeks each summer, they get to come to Camp Simcha Special—a place where opportunities are endless, where their physical limitations are no longer barriers, and where they get to feel if only for a second that they are not bound by their medical diagnosis. For those two weeks, they get to experience the freedom, joy, and the possibility of being known simply as themselves.
Inspired by the incredible resilience, courage, and strength I witnessed this summer, I have set a goal of raising $5,400 to help give more children the opportunity to experience camp and to support the multitude of services that Chai Lifeline provides to these children and their families throughout the year.
Every contribution, no matter the size, can help make a difference. Thank you for helping me give these incredible children the chance to simply be kids!
