This 1/2 marathon will be my second and is weighted with significance and personal meaning.

I ran my first 1/2 marathon about 9 years ago in Philadelphia while 5 months pregnant with my son. That run, with my growing superhero along for the ride, was undoubtedly one of my greatest accomplishments...until becoming a mom just 4 months later.

My son, Max was born January 29 and was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 3. We endured countless trips to the hospital that almost always resulted in being admitted for anywhere from 5 to 10 days each visit.

During our many hours hooked up to machines, being monitored by doctors around the clock, and sometimes being unable to leave our hospital room, we benefited from the care of Chai Lifeline. From meal deliveries, to activities for Max, to calls checking in on my emotional and mental state, we were so incredibly fortunate to have Chai Lifeline in our lives. They followed us from New Jersey back to Philadelphia, where Max underwent brain surgery at CHOP - always serving as a lifeline for our family and our warrior.

On January 28, 2024 - just one day before Max turns 9 - I will be running to raise awareness and critical funds for Chai Lifeline, a wonderful organization dedicated to helping very sick children and their families.

Training is not easy, but neither is dealing with medical challenges.

If Max can face brain surgery and overcome his daily challenges of regaining motor and language skills, and the children of Chai Lifeline can fight their battles each day, if they can push themselves through hospital stays and treatments, I can do this for them. I will do this for Max.

But I can't do this without your support!

I need your help to raise as much money as possible for these kids. I’ve set a challenging goal for myself to raise $7,500 in support of Chai Lifeline. Your generous donation will help me move closer to my goal and make a difference in the lives of so many sick children. Let's do this together!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

#MAXPOWER!
