Yosef Warum

Hi, I’m Yosef, and if you know me, you know that one of the biggest parts of my life is my younger brother, Azzi. He’s 14, he’s a superstar, he’s got the biggest smile, and honestly—he’s one of my heroes. Azzi was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare and incurable disease that slowly weakens his muscles. He deals with stuff every day that most people our age couldn’t even imagine.

But when Azzi was 8, something amazing happened. He went to Camp Simcha Special for the first time, and it completely changed his world.

At Camp Simcha, Azzi gets to forget about being “the kid with DMD.” He gets to just be Azzi. He flies down the zip line, goes crazy on the water slides, and don’t even get me started on the concerts—he LOVES the concerts. But what makes Camp Simcha the best place ever is that he’s surrounded by people who actually get him. He gets to laugh, have fun, and feel free. For him—and for so many other kids fighting serious illnesses—Camp Simcha is pure magic.

Seeing how much Chai Lifeline and Camp Simcha have done for Azzi, my family and I felt like we had to do something. And honestly, Azzi was the first one to say, “Let’s go for it.” So we created Team Azzi to raise money for Chai Lifeline, so they can keep helping kids like my brother. They do everything—from hospital visits and case management to meal deliveries, rides to appointments, respite care, and financial help for families going through the hardest situations.

Now we need your help. You can join me and Team Azzi on the course at the Miami Marathon or you can donate—either way, you’ll be helping us reach our $100,000 goal. Azzi and all the other Chai Lifeline warriors are counting on you.
