Team Azzi

Meet Azzi, a 14-year-old boy with a very special mission. Born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare and uncurable, neuromuscular disease that progressively weakens the muscles, Azzi faces challenges most of us can’t even imagine. Yet, when he was 8 years old, a door opened that would change his world—he stepped into Camp Simcha Special for the very first time.

At Camp Simcha, Azzi discovered a place where the weight of his condition seemed to lift. He found joy in flying high on the zip line, splashing on the water slide, and was captivated by the concerts. But beyond these favorite activities, what truly made Camp Simcha magical was the chance to just be a kid—to laugh, to play, and to experience the wonder of summer camp, surrounded by friends who understood his journey. For Azzi and hundreds of other children facing serious illnesses, Camp Simcha became a sanctuary of joy and hope.

Moved by the impact Chai Lifeline and Camp Simcha have had on their lives, Azzi and his family decided to take action. They formed Team Azzi to raise critical funds, ensuring that Chai Lifeline can continue to provide its life-changing services to thousands of children and their families around the world. From professional case management and hospital visits to respite care, meal delivery, transportation to medical appointments, and financial assistance, Chai Lifeline offers a comprehensive lifeline to those who need it most.
